RADON REMEDIATION SINCE 1986
SELECTED CASE HISTORIES AND EXPERIENCE
Toll Brothers:
Avalon Properties / GZA Geoenvironmental, Inc.
:
Remediation of multiple units in several different apartment complexes covering a wide variety of construction designs and ages.
The Bozzuto Group
:
Remediation of multi-family apartment complexes. Soil testing and pre-construction remedial system design.
Charles E. Smith
:
Remediation of large office building and follow-up indoor tests confirming less than 2 pCi/l.
ATEC Associates
:
Remedial diagnostics, remediation, and testing of several large office buildings.
Bechtel International.
:
Detailed soil testing for large office complex that located areas of high radon potential and recommended remedial design. Performed indoor radon tests that confirmed soil potentials.

:
Soil testing and subsequent remedial design for new schools.
Loudon County Public Schools
:
Design and installation of radon remedial systems in existing schools. Soil testing at new school sites.
Montgomery County Public Schools
:
Remediation of over 20 schools using quantitative remedial diagnostics. Follow-up indoor tests confirmed less
than 4 pCi/l in every case and less than 1 pCi/l in most cases. Soil testing to evaluate sites for radon potential and designing the level of pre-construction remediation required.
Baltimore County and Howard County Public Schools
:
Remediation of elevated indoor radon in complex school buildings
using quantitative diagnostics.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Contracts:
1. Analysis of radon concentrations under various HVAC conditions in large government buildings to determine the effects of the HVAC system on radon levels.
2. Determination of the long-term durability of sub-slab ventilation systems by analysis of radon levels versus various system measurements in remediated homes.
Department of Energy (DOE)
:
Remediation of elevated indoor radon at the Germantown facility using quantitative diagnostics and design. Follow-up indoor testing procedure.
